Simply plug in an external DAC device and the operating system should get the necessary handshake done.
Open "Settings" (under "Welcome User Name") and select the audio API and external DAC as audio output device. Click "Save Settings".
On MAC, Core Audio interface is used to set up the audio queue on the default hardware. On Windows, either kernel streaming (WDMKS), WASAPI, ASIO, DS interface is possible. For general users on Windows, DS audio API is recommended.
